What is the Sharon Basketball Association ("travel")?

Sharon Basketball Association, Inc. is an independent non-profit corporation dedicated to the boys and girls of Sharon, Massachusetts and is focused on the development, management and administration of the Sharon Travel Basketball program. We are advocates for the development and growth of basketball in the Town of Sharon. We take pride in our Town and we have adopted the Town mascot, "Sharon Eagles" for our teams. We work cooperatively with our Town administration and other community organizations to enhance our program and the opportunities offered to our children. Through our program and our efforts we seek to promote athletic excellence, good sportsmanship and citizenship, respect for others and self, fair play, and a balance between individual achievement and cooperative teamwork, all within the context of competitive basketball. Our teams play in the Metrowest, South Shore, and South Shore Prep basketball leagues, as well as in area tournaments. Our coaches and board members are parents and volunteers from our community focused on providing a positive and structured atmosphere for the development of our players, our teams and our program. Home games and practices for 2005-2006 are held at Mass Premier Courts in Foxboro.

What is Sharon Recreation Basketball ("rec")?

The Sharon Recreation Basketball Program is a town-sponsored youth recreation program. Our goal is to create an enjoyable, satisfying experience for everyone involved including players, volunteer coaches, referees and parents. We offer an instructional program at grades 1 and 2 and a competitive in-house recreational program for grades 3-12. Everyone is welcome and everyone plays. It is a no-cut, high-fun program. The mission of the Sharon Recreation Departmern is to advance parks, recreation and leisure-time activities that enhance the quality of life in Sharon. The purpose of the Recreation Department is to meet the diverse recreational, cultural, athletic and leisure-time pursuits of the residents of Sharon with a broad based comprehesive program. Recreational programs are organized to encourage participation and enjoyment and should be held at safe and well-equipped facilities on a year-round basis. Dave Clifton is the Director of the Recreation Department. Games and practices are held in gyms throughout the town of Sharon.
